White Line Fever

More my style!

And the Beatles were hard men, too. Brian Epstein cleaned them up for mass consumption, but they were anything but sissies. They were from Liverpool, which is like Hamburg or Norfolk, Virginia—a hard, sea-farin' town, all these dockers and sailors around all the time that'd beat the piss out of you if you so much as winked at them. Ringo's from the Dingle, which is like the fucking Bronx. The Rolling Stones were the mummy's boys — they were all college students from the outskirts of London. They went to starve in London, but it was by choice, to give themselves some sort of aura of disrespectability. I did like the Stones, but they were never anywhere near the Beatles — not for humour, not for originality, not for songs, not for presentation. All they had was Mick Jagger dancing about. Fair enough, the Stones made great records, but they were always shit on stage, whereas the Beatles were the gear.

I remember one gig the Beatles had at the Cavern. It was just after they got Brian Epstein as their manager. Everyone in Liverpool knew that Epstein was gay, and some kid in the audience screamed, 'John Lennon's a fucking queer!' And John — who never wore his glasses on stage — put his guitar down and went into the crowd shouting, 'Who said that?' So this kid says, 'I fucking did.' John went after him and BAM, gave him the Liverpool kiss, sticking the nut on him — twice! And the kid went down in a mass of blood, snot, and teeth. Then John got back on the stage.

'Anybody else?' he asked. Silence. 'All right then. "Some Other Guy".'

Yeah!

Came across this:

One of the most important nights of my life was when I was looking at the stars. Syria. Desert highway Homs to Aleppo. Just after talking to a student at the Homs bus station headed back to Tartus hoping the best for Bashar versus the American/Saudi-backed captagon-infused Sunni extremists. January 2012. Thinking "Am I going to be dead in two days? Does it really matter?".

Thought about this moment (THE moment):

Where is that photo, anyway... al-masdar... right...

Wikipedia: "Al-Masdar News was..." okay then.

Interesting. But where is that photo? Does it not exist anywhere anymore?

That day. We should all be thankful for the manner in which it maintained the balance. If that day had not come... what would the Middle East look like now? Oh dear... and now the Saudi sportswashing. Dear me, what is this world coming to? Really? You're kidding!

Yes that one.

Anyway...

"Those stories are becoming increasingly unconvincing and intolerable."

Saudi Linings Playbook: Syria to sportswashing.

Oh yeah... Pi Day... the beginning of Einstein, the end of Hawking. Didn't know that. Funny how that's true. God does not play dice. Supposedly.

But yeah... November 10, 2015.

Oh... nice to get a supportive email from the military commander.

I hope it all goes my way...

Gotta return that without pay form...

A dog barks... A gust of wind... 3... 2... 1...

No, it's not Groundhog Day and you are not going to win the lottery because of a cat.

But good memories, nonetheless...

November 10, 2015. What a fulcrum of geopolitical history that day was. Too bad our understanding of history is so capitalistically pathetic. You miss out on so much. Like... take the Islamic Golden Age... They were the leaders in science and mathematics because they had rediscovered the Ancient Greeks from conquering Europe (and then the Europeans reconquered them and said "oh yeah, these guys, instead we just kept people in complete ignorance for nearly a thousand years in order to keep them enslaved..." and don't get me started on Boethius). Why? Because understanding gave them a greater appreciation of God's power.

"You were saying?"

"It's in the cupboard."

"N-n-n-o, the one by your knees."

Etc., etc., etc.

Not brute force. Beautiful intricacies. Like mathematics. Like semi-deterministic topology. Like 11 stars :)

Yeah... say what again and all that in the background.

Sing it with me now!!!
