Thank you, Jordan Peterson

First of all, I fundamentally disagree with Jordan Peterson's politics. I think his stuff about "postmodernist neo-marxism"or whatever it is is complete nonsense. Postmodernism (for the most part) is fundamentally at odds with Marxism, as Marxism is about the ontology of work and postmodernism is about the ontology of social structures and interpretation. As I explain in Schizophrenia and Capitalism, if one looks at a progression of value from space to other to self to nothingness, Marxism deals with the relationship of self to other, but other in the materialist sense, i.e. subject-object. Postmodernism, on the other hand has to do with the relationship between other and nothingness, wherein there are social structures that are interpreted as if they have no intrinsic value, and everything is relative. JP's stuff about pronouns and identity politics is also somewhat irritating, but I believe that identity politics is in itself the new divide-and-conquer strategy from the powers that be, so I don't entirely disagree with that part. I disagree that people should be addressed as they wish, but I do not believe it should be made a central point of contention.

As psychologist, however, he has some good insights, especially about depression and motivation and suicide. I have watched the following video numerous times, and it is subjectively insightful based on how I've been feeling lately.
